Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander

Claim Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander for free

The Game

On the edge of Terran space lies Halcyon 6, a derelict starbase left behind by a mysterious precursor race. Your mission is to reclaim the derelict station and rebuild it.
A mysterious alien force is making a beeline towards Earth and this starbase is the best chance for the New Terran Federation to establish new alliances, research new technologies and otherwise figure out a way to stop the impending invasion.

Using only the resources you can salvage from the derelict station and gathered from nearby star systems, it’s up to you to rebuild the starbase to lead the Terran Republic’s scientific research, exploration and diplomatic efforts on the edge of known space.

Halcyon 6 is a passion project who’s design is inspired by our years spent playing classic games like Star Control, Master of Orion, X-COM, Civilization and new classics like FTL.

Features:

  • Base Building: spend resources to build station facilities (rooms) to enhance your production and technological capabilities, or build ships to help you control more territory
  • Exploration: assign your fleets to nearby star clusters, where they can handle emerging enemy threats, do missions for alien factions or secure bonus resources
  • Crew Management: assign crew to station facilities to greatly improve their output efficiency, or to ships where they can contribute in unique ways to combat, missions and events
  • Deep Tactical Combat: fight tactical ship or ground battles to resolve hostile events, create a foothold in the sector and ultimately defeat the enemy mothership!
  • Story Events: based on game criteria like rooms-built, alien diplomacy scores or officer traits/skills, the game will produce story events (often with multiple choice outcomes) that can lead to combat, time-related applied bonuses/negatives, officer attribute changes or any number of crazy in-game stories.

Project Goals

Unlimited Replayability: Each playthrough has players dealing with a new randomly generated derelict station, surrounding galaxy, crew recruits, and alien factions

Motley Crew: Each crew member has unlimited potential for acquiring unique behaviours, traits and abilities, for better or for worse. Making the best use of your dysfunctional crew will be one of the keys to success. Who should be your main Science Officer? The insomniac that works insane hours but has an addictive personality or the agoraphobic mad genius?

Encounters of the Weird Kind: There are 6 alien factions in Halcyon 6 and they are all quite different with varying objectives and personalities. Only your wit and your crew’s skills will help you navigate the diplomatic waters to gain them as key allies or valuable trading partners. – Steam

Microsoft Allegiance

Claim Microsoft Allegiance for free

Space Combat Action / Simulation

Allegiance uses a unique Newtonian flight model which perfectly balances fun with flight. Space ships turn, slide and boost. You have fluid control of your ship in a wide variety of combat types. Select an agile scout, a hidden stealth fighter, an in your face interceptor or an all around fighter. Or, perhaps you would like to team up with a few friends and pilot a base killing bomber while your friends man the turrets. Get even bigger in a full line of capital ships with better fire power, and even more turrets, and a wide range of support ships all controlled by your teammates. Play it your way; even the sky is no limit.

Real Time Strategy

Allegiance is also a fully formed RTS with tech trees, exploration, base building, and resource gathering. But there’s a twist: most of your ships are flown by real human beings! As the commander of your team, you bring your strategic vision to life by gives direction to the team from an overhead command view. Allegiance melds RTS elements like steering expansion by building new bases, investing in technology upgrades to a seamless command experience designed to help you lead your team to ultimate victory.

Unique Gameplay

Allegiance is easy to learn. Hop in a ship and start flying. Get with a wingman and start achieving your goals: exploration, map control, research and resource collection and best of all, end game dominance. Allegiance is deep. Dip in your toes in for some quick combat or dive all the way in for a rich and rewarding experience. Most matches average forty minutes, with some competitive matches going the distance for two hours or more. Play for a bit or for a whole match. Or better yet, stay and play for a bunch of matches.

Unique fog of war system
Like many RTS games, you start with most of the map undiscovered. Maps are broken down into several sectors connected by wormholes, which contain resources vital to your team’s survival. But not only finding resources, but also observing the movements of the enemy is vital to your team’s success. Each team has a shared view of the world, seeing only what at least one of its scanners (from ships, bases and deployed sensor probes) picks up. This results in various levels of stealth, misdirection, spying and surveillance emerging.

Economy and Base Building
Economy is key in Allegiance so both hunting enemy miners and defending your own is essential. Base placement drives miner offense and miner defense. Ensuring your own bases build in a timely manner is vital to your success.

Technological Upgrades
As the game goes on, the commander invests money into better technology. The ships you fly become more and more powerful, until instead of lowly scouts and fighters, you’re piloting massive capital ships with several turret gunners each, facing off against swarms of heavy interceptors with powerful weapons.

Countless Tactical Options
Every match is played between teams picking different factions, lead by commanders with different mindsets and divergent leadership approaches, with different players of varying playstyles, emphasizing different technology research paths and expansion strategies.
The end result is almost limitless replayability. – Steam

Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator

Claim Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator for free

The Game:

Here is a sandbox like no other. Create massive battles with absolutely no limits. Want to see 10,000 chickens fight an army of Romans?? Sure, why not. Want to see a company of WW2 U.S soldiers fight 11,000 Medieval soldiers?? There are simply no limits to the carnage you can achieve in Epic Battle Simulator. Mess around with a massive variety of units. Everything from, Roman Centurions, Medieval soldiers, Knights, Orcs, Trolls, and yes, chickens! The main focus in this game is giving the player no restrictions to what he can do. That is why we decided not to limit the amount of units in battle. Want to see what a battle of 100,000 units looks like? We don’t recommend going past 10,000 for most machines but its your CPU, do what you want! On top of that, you can play as any one of the units in the game, getting up close and personal to help change the tides of a massive battle, while rallying teammates and giving them orders!

The Technology:

Unfortunately there really aren’t many engines that you can chuck 10,000 characters in and expect good performance. This is why I worked months on end to create the most powerful crowd rendering system ever conceived in Unity engine. The detail of each character has little effect on performance while each individual acts independently, but is working towards a greater good for his team. Each individual decides his own path and navigates complex environments. But I didn’t stop there! With the large open environments, I needed a more dynamic lighting solution than the one built in to Unity engine. So I built my own dynamic global illumination lighting engine. This enables bounce light completely in real time. What does that mean? That means every piece of shiny armor is reflecting it’s true surroundings, every bright surfaces illuminates it’s surroundings and effects the overall lighting.

Yes I worked hard to bring this game to life, may you all inflict carnage upon it! – Steam

Throne of Lies: Medieval Politics

Claim Throne of Lies: Medieval Politics for free

Throne of Lies is the FREE, 3D online multiplayer game where 8~16 players combine their social deduction skills with over 100 abilities to root out the traitors at the table and stop their foes from taking control of the kingdom.

In a modern take on tabletop games like Werewolf/Mafia and set during a time of medieval conflict, each player is randomly assigned one of 40+ classes, ranging from the King, himself, to a hapless Fool. Most players will be loyal members of the Blue Dragon faction, but each game will feature members of either the wicked Cult or mysterious Unseen faction, along with a few Neutral characters to mix things up.

The unique Day/Night cycle allows players to congregate around the table, discuss their findings and accuse players of treason during the day and use their abilities to occupy, spy on, conspire against and even kill their fellow players at night.

While Cult and Unseen players know their allies, members of the Blue Dragon must be suspicious of every other player to ensure that they don’t fall to an evil plot.
Even the King is suspect in Throne of Lies, and the enemy’s ability to convert other players to their side means that allegiances are always shifting.

The game concludes when the Blue Dragon faction has disposed of all hostile threats against the kingdom or their enemies have seized control of the Throne of Lies! – Steam

Crowd Control

Crowd Control

Crowd control is a game about risk & play style exploration.

Up to four players spend a minute and a half converting as many crowd members to their colour. this is done by moving their wave with 4 directional keys.

Crowd Control was created in the New Zealand Kiwi Jam 2019 game jam. I created this game in under 48 hours. It won 2nd Place in the Christchurch Kiwi Jam Awards 2019 so i decided to publish it on steam. I made it free to play because It has a short gameplay loop like most game jam games.

Summary

The Mexican wave:

an effect resembling a moving wave produced by successive sections of the crowd in a stadium standing up, raising their arms, lowering them, and sitting down again.

Four players each control an area where crowd members feel the need to party! These people somehow change the colour of their shirts, jump up, and cheer loud noises. Each time someone jumps while wearing your coloured shirt your score increases by one. The team with the highest score wins.

You cannot convert crowd members that have recently jumped (indicated by the colour fading over time). If you get cut off by other player’s recent jumpers you have to navigate back to the last place you colour jumped and continue the wave another direction.

Throughout the duration of the game players can find party people that are indicated by the small light green arrow above their heads. Party people send a shock wave of jumpers out in every direction but watch out as occasionally it might not be your colour of wave.

To change the AI to player ratio you can left click on a player while the game is paused to toggle the AI.

The Long Dark

Claim The Long Dark for free

Bright lights flare across the night sky. The wind rages outside the thin walls of your wooden cabin. A wolf howls in the distance. You look at the meager supplies in your pack, and wish for the days before the power mysteriously went out. How much longer will you survive?

Welcome to THE LONG DARK, the innovative exploration-survival experience Wired magazine calls “the pinnacle of an entire genre”.

The Long Dark is a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster. There are no zombies — only you, the cold, and all the threats Mother Nature can muster.

The episodic story-mode for The Long Dark, WINTERMUTE, includes two of the five episodes that form its Season One. Both episodes were given a complete overhaul in December 2018, as part of the Redux Update: new mission structure, story beats, dialogue, animations etc.

EPISODE ONE – “Do Not Go Gentle”

Bush pilot Will Mackenzie (player character) and Dr. Astrid Greenwood are separated after their plane crashes deep in the Northern Canadian wilderness in the aftermath of a mysterious flash of light in the sky. Struggling to survive as he desperately searches for Astrid, Mackenzie comes across the small town of Milton, where he begins to understand the scope of this quiet apocalypse.

EPISODE TWO – “Luminance Fugue”

Mackenzie’s search for Astrid takes him deeper into the savage Winter wilderness. A mysterious trapper may be the key to finding Astrid, but can he be trusted?

EPISODE THREE – “Crossroads Elegy”

In the aftermath of events in Milton, an enigmatic stranger rescues Dr. Astrid Greenwood (player character) from near death. Facing the blizzards of Pleasant Valley, Astrid must bring all her skills as a doctor to bear on the survivors she encounters. But will she find Mackenzie, and get closer to the mystery that’s taking them to Perseverance Mills?

The first two episodes of WINTERMUTE represent approximately 15 hours of gameplay. Episodes Three to Five are included in the price of the game, and will be unlocked for free as they are released.

Features performances by Jennifer Hale, Mark Meer, David Hayter, and Elias Toufexis (Episode Three), and the music of Cris Velasco.

Survival Mode is the free-form, non-narrative survival sandbox that has been honed over nearly three years in Early Access.

Survival is your only goal, and death your only end. Make your own survival story with every game.

NO HAND HOLDING

The game challenges players to think for themselves by providing the information but never the answers. You have to earn the right to survive.

PERMADEATH

When you die in Survival Mode, your save is deleted. Every decision matters. [Note that WINTERMUTE does not feature permadeath.

CONDITION & CALORIES

Monitor your Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue, and Cold as you struggle to balance resources with the energy needed to obtain them. Every action costs Calories, and time is your most precious resource. Choose your path carefully.

SCOUR THE WORLD FOR SUPPLIES

Over 100 gear items including Tools, Light Sources, Weapons, First Aid supplies, Clothing, and more.

A VAST LIVING WORLD

Explore a 50 square kilometre Northern Canadian wilderness in search of precious supplies. In Winter. Dynamic time of day, weather, wildlife presence, etc. provide just enough randomness to keep things challenging.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Hunt, fish, trap, climb, map, search for life-saving food and gear items, and try to avoid dying from the hostile wildlife, succumbing to hypothermia, frostbite, or dysentery (amongst other uncomfortable afflictions), find and maintain your life-saving gear. Hunt and be hunted by: Wolves, Bears, Moose, Rabbits, Deers, Crows, and more to come in future updates.

CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE

Four distinct Experience Modes let you find a challenge level you are comfortable with, such as Pilgrim Mode, which is meant to be quiet and pensive, all the way to Interloper Mode, where only the most experienced survivors have a chance to last a week. If none of the four Experiences suits you, use Custom Mode settings to tailor your Survival Mode game to your specific tastes.
Features the music of Sascha Dikiciyan.

Several standalone Challenge Modes offer objective-based experiences designed to last 1-3 hours each, such as Whiteout — the race to gather enough supplies to prepare for a monster blizzard. Or Hunted, where you need to escape a murderous Bear. Complete them to unlock Feats that provide long-term gameplay benefits in Survival Mode. Five Challenges exist at launch, with more on the way in future updates.
